Brook Hill guards win over Big Sandy; State-ranked Argyle-Liberty Christian biggest test to date for The Guard

BIG SANDY – Quarterback, J.B. Moss continued to rack up the points and yardage for Brook Hill on Friday, as The Guard picked up a big momentum boost in a 27- 8, win over Big Sandy at Wildcat Stadium.

“I was proud of the kid’s and their efforts against a very good tea,” the first year Guard football coach, Terry Pirtle said. “It will take a major effort on the kids and coaching staffs effort to win this Friday,”

“This is the best football program (Argyle Libert Christian) that The Brook Hill Football program has ever played.”

Moss scored all three touchdowns and rushed for 179 yards, along with 5-of-10 passing and another 66 yards.

Moss ran the first score in with 8:13 on the first quarter clock.

Zachary Cool paced a running attack of four runners, leading with 45-yards in six carries. as the Guard rolled up 246 yards on 26 carries in the game.

Jeremey Chappell was on the receiving end of four passes for 44-yards. Matt Ruark only carried one time but made it count scoring on a two-yard dash.

Brook Hill’s backup to Moss at quarterback, Travis Pirtle made four completions in six throws for 39- yards to bolster the attack. Brook Hill did all their scoring in the first half, as The Guard defense highlighted he second half of play.

Leading the defensive charge once again was linebackers, Tallen Harris with nine tackles, Jared Dickey with eight stops, and A.J. Minter adding in seven tackles.

LOOKING AHEAD THIS WEEK

Arglye Liberty Christian is 2-2 on the season with both losses coming at the hands of two TOP 10 private schools, Ft. Worth Nolan, and Trinity Christian Addison.

TCA beat LC, the first week, 14–21. Liberty Christian bounced back with a win over Gainesville State School, 32–6. Another setback to a powerful, Ft. Worth Nolan had a 27-35 verdict, before beating El Paso Cathedral decisively last week, 43-7.
