BULLARD – Two-time champion, Jim Barkley won his third Men’s Club Golf Championship time when he won in a playoff Sunday at Emerald Bay Club Barkley (74-74-79) won in the playoff against Dale Leath (75-78-74) as both golfers finished with a 54- hole total of 227. More ... PALESTINE – The Bullard High School and Middle School cross country teams all finished in the top five of the team standings recently at the Dogwood Cross Country Invitational. The BHS girl’s varsity took second-place behind Palestine. The Lady Panthers had two top ten finishes from Bailee Callens (fourth-place), and Kylee Nichols (eighthplace). More ... DALLAS - After dropping game one, the Brook Hill volleyball team rebounded in the second game and rolled on from there to take down Dallas Shelton in four games last week. The Lady Guard won 22-25, 25-14, 25- 14, 25-9. Brook Hill was led by Amy Joe Teague and Baylee Rozell, who finished with eight and six kills, respectively. CANYON CREEK 3, More ... BIG SANDY – Quarterback, J.B. Moss continued to rack up the points and yardage for Brook Hill on Friday, as The Guard picked up a big momentum boost in a 27- 8, win over Big Sandy at Wildcat Stadium. This season alone Roberts has racked up a ream leading 163 kills, 72 service aces, and 276 digs. Roberts has also got four blocks and two solo blocks to her credit. More ... The seventh-grace Guard took a 30-14, lsetback to the Big Sandy WIldcats in the opener of the day. Later on, the eighth-grade Guard strolled to a, 40-6 domination over Crossroads. More ... BULLARD – First it was Mother Nature raining on our parade earlier in the week. Then on Friday night the Rusk Eagles put a quick damper on the Homecoming festivities, scoring almost at will to beat Bullard with a 21-7, win over the Panthers. More ... KILGORE - The East Texas Pump Jacks will have a familiar face in the dugout next summer. General manager Mike Lieberman announced Ben Taylor will return as manager. In his first year at the helm, Taylor’s Pump Jacks went 26-21 with one tie, setting a franchise record for wins in a season. More ... The Bullard HIgh School junior varsity took a tough, 2-0 loss on the road last week in a hard-fought battle to Rusk. The Eagles scored when a punt snap went over the head of the kicker and rolled through the end zone for the 2-0 score. The loss drops the JV to a 1-2 record on the season. More ... HOMECOMING CHEER - At top left, the middle school cheerleaders show some acrobatics during the BMS pep rally last Thursday. More ...
