Lady Panthers sweep CH in district opener
      BULLARD - The Lady Panthers got 14 kills from Nikki Coleman, and 12 digs apiece from Valarie Roberts and Ashlee Shidler to pace Bullard to a three-game sweep over Chapel Hill to open up District 17-3A volleyball action on Saturday at Panther gymnasium. Bullard (18-7; 1-0). won by scores of 25-17, 25-17, and 25-20.

BMS ‘A’ football teams take wins over Eagles; ‘B’ teams improving
      BULLARD - The Bullard eighth-grade team promised head coach Dennis Beavers a win at the middle school pep-rally on Thursday. Still looking for their first win, the Panthers (1-1), got two long runs from Austin Skelton en route to a 24-20 win over a fast, and talented Rusk Eagle eighthgrade.

Barkley holds on for third Emerald Bay win
      BULLARD – Two-time champion, Jim Barkley won his third Men’s Club Golf Championship time when he won in a playoff Sunday at Emerald Bay Club Barkley (74-74-79) won in the playoff against Dale Leath (75-78-74) as both golfers finished with a 54- hole total of 227.

Panthers, Lady Panthers take second in CC
      PALESTINE – The Bullard High School and Middle School cross country teams all finished in the top five of the team standings recently at the Dogwood Cross Country Invitational. The BHS girl’s varsity took second-place behind Palestine. The Lady Panthers had two top ten finishes from Bailee Callens (fourth-place), and Kylee Nichols (eighthplace).

Lady Guard earns district volleyball split
      DALLAS - After dropping game one, the Brook Hill volleyball team rebounded in the second game and rolled on from there to take down Dallas Shelton in four games last week.       Roberts has been a mainstay in the Lady Panthers volleyball lineup for the past three seasons. This season alone Roberts has racked up a ream leading 163 kills, 72 service aces, and 276 digs. Roberts has also got four blocks and two solo blocks to her credit.

Brook Hill seventh loses to Big Sandy; Eighth-graders blow-out Crossroads
      BULLARD - The Brook Hill middle school football teams split games this past Thursday at Herrington Field. The seventh-grace Guard took a 30-14, lsetback to the Big Sandy WIldcats in the opener of the day. Later on, the eighth-grade Guard strolled to a, 40-6 domination over Crossroads.

Eagles soar and spoil BHS homecoming
      BULLARD – First it was Mother Nature raining on our parade earlier in the week. Then on Friday night the Rusk Eagles put a quick damper on the Homecoming festivities, scoring almost at will to beat Bullard with a 21-7, win over the Panthers.

PumpJacks re-new manager, Taylor’s spot
      KILGORE - The East Texas Pump Jacks will have a familiar face in the dugout next summer. General manager Mike Lieberman announced Ben Taylor will return as manager. In his first year at the helm, Taylor’s Pump Jacks went 26-21 with one tie, setting a franchise record for wins in a season.

BHS sub-varsity keeps rolling
      The Bullard HIgh School junior varsity took a tough, 2-0 loss on the road last week in a hard-fought battle to Rusk. The Eagles scored when a punt snap went over the head of the kicker and rolled through the end zone for the 2-0 score. The loss drops the JV to a 1-2 record on the season.

BOOSTER CLUB GIVES CHEER SQUAD A BIG LOUD BOOST
      The Bullard High School cheerleaders got a welcomed donation last week from the BHS Booster Club as they presented the cheerleaders with a ‘thumping’ sound system for pep rallies, outdoor events, and practicing.
