Lady Guard battles TKG; sweeps Lakehill

Brook Hill started off the district campaign with a three-game sweep over Lakehill Prep last week, by scores of 25-8, 25-8, and 25-12. The Lady Guard played another district game against Richardson-Canyon Creek this past Tuesday night. The Brook Hill Lady Guard warmed up for their district opener with a hard-fought loss to T.K. Gorman last Tuesday night.

Brook Hill won the first two games, but could not hold back a Lady Crusaders comeback.

Brook Hill opened up district play last Thursday with a three-game sweep over Lakehill Prep from Dallas.

The Lady Guard will travel to play Garland Christian on THursday, Sept. 17.

T.K. Gorman 3, Brook Hill 2

TYLER – After winning the first two games, T.K. Gorman rallied past a young Bullard Brook Hill volleyball team in comeback fashion, 15-25, 26- 28, 25-16, and 25-21, at Haddad gymnasium on the T.K. Gorman campus.

Leading the way for Brook Hill were Erica Eden with 38 assists, five kills, 18 digs, and four service aces.

Freshman, Baylee Rozell cranked out 10 kills, nine digs, three solo blocks, and three aces from the service line.

Mary Caroline Selden added eight kills, 11 digs, and Carley Howard added five kills, seven digs and two aces.

Gorman’s, Kathryn Huber finished with 18 kills and three blocks to lead the Lady Crusaders.

Brook Hill (2-7), played against Lakehill Prep in their district opener on Thursday.

Brook Hill 3, Lakehill Prep 0 BULLARD – The Brook Hill Lady Guard started off the district volleyball race with a big win in a three-game sweep over Lakehill Prep of Dallas on Thursday night at Herrington Sports Complex on the Brook Hill campus.

Brook Hill (3-7), won in dominating fashion by scores of 25-8, 25-8, and 25-12.

Setter, Erica Eden did her usual good job of setting the floor while adding seven tip dinks for points, along with four service aces. Mary Caroline Selden pounded out four aces, eight kills, and made six digs.

Also aiding in the Lady Guard win was freshman, Baylee Rozell with three kills, and five kills while Sarah Mullicane had one ace and six kills for the win.

Brook Hill also swept the junior varsity match in two games, 25-21, and 25-12.
