Brookshires will host a community blood drive with Carter BloodCare from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday July 31, at Brookshires located at 213 N Highway 69 in Bullard.

The drive, although dedicated to High School students, is open to anyone in the community. Donate for a favorite High School. High School donors make up over 20 percent of the donor base and during summer when school is out, this gives them the opportunity to donate. All donors will receive a free T-shirt, free internet Download cards, and two free movie tickets.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years old, 16 with parental consent, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health. Anyone who gives blood should eat a nourishing meal before donating and must bring a photo ID.
