Brook Hill Cadet Singers take first place

Congratulations to The Brook Hill School Cadet Singers third through fifth grade honor choir which took part in the East Texas Music Festival in Athens last Friday and walked away with first place for the second consecutive year.

The students performed in a bracket with intermediate schools and even one middle school and were awarded first place and the "Outstanding Trophy."

Some of the judges' comments were as follows: "Great job on harmony. Thanks for a good blend"; "Beautiful blending of voices;" "You were a pleasure to listen to;" and, "Well done on the various languages. That is a challenge, one that this choir has met very well."

Selections included "Benedictus" by Brian Lewis, "Shoo Fly" arranged by Cristi Cary Miller, "Furaha"-Swahili for Joyby Sally K. Albrecht and "All The World" by Jason Ingram and Sam Mizell. The Brook Hill School Cadet Singers are directed by music teacher, Mrs. Heidi Faulk and are in their third year.
