Austin Bank Names 2008 Community Involvement Award Recipients in J'ville
      Austin Bank employees Kent Bryson, Austin Vass and Michael Simpson were recognized for their volunteer work and contributions to three East Texas civic and non-profit organizations. Austin Bank annually recognizes its employees and officers for their volunteer service to civic and non-profit organizations within East Texas by giving Community Involvement Awards.

      "We found them, dead, scalped and raped," repor ts came from Bosque County in 1857. A Mrs. Woods and Mrs. Lemly were kidnapped from their homes along with the Lemly daughters but the two girls were released unharmed a couple of days later. The day after the girls' release, two Monroe boys died from an attack by the same natives.

Smith County, City of Tyler to sign interlocal ETJ agreement
      This morning., officials from Smith County and City of Tyler were to have jointly signed an interlocal agreement for unified platting and subdivision approval for development that occurs within the City's extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). These amendments were unanimously approved by City of Tyler and the Smith County Commissioners Court earlier this month.

Bullard ISD Place 4 filed for, Diana Folmar ready
      Diana Folmar, city court clerk, has filed to run for a Bullard Independent School District school board seat. Folmar filed for the Place 4 spot held by Paul Stone. "One of the reasons I want to get involved is because I have kids in school system," she said.

Smith County Commissioners Call Election Concerning Alcohol Sales in J.P. Precinct 4
      Smith County Commissioners Court unanimously agreed to call a local option election for the legal sale of alcohol in Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 during a regular meeting, Monday, Feb. 23, 2009. The local option election will place two alcoholrelated items on the ballot for the May 9 election.
