"We start district play on Friday and regardless of what we have done up until now, it's a game at a time and taking care of business game-by-game," said head coach, Greg Gay after the win. "I wanted the main rotation to get a good full game in before Friday and the entire team came on and did their jobs and like I said, "It's down to business and I hope they keep up the intensity level they have played with the past few weeks."

The inside duo of Danielle Heithoff (20 points), and Calli Miller (18) tied the Athens offensive efforts combining 38 points.

Add-on double-figure games from Minta Spears (14), and Ally Covalt (12), joined in by another stellar defensive gem by Ashley Ricci and her nine points, the Lady Hornets never stood a chance.

Bullard's point guard, Spears hit her first of four 3-pointers for a 21-5 lead in the first quarter. The young floor leader sank another trey at the 2:30 mark of the second quarter as the Lady Panther lead swelled to 34- 16.

Fellow freshman, guard, Samantha Phillips ended a one-sided second quarter with a 3-pointer of her own to stake a 41-21 lead at intermission.

Taking a 62-31 lead into the final period, Bullard continued to mix-it-up defensively and held the Lady Hornets to a mere seven points. Offensively, Spears finished off a double double with 15 assists as the Lady Panthers pulled away adding 18 points for the final tally.

The Bullard junior varsity beat Athens 61-20, and freshmen made it a threegame sweep with a win at the middle school gym.
