Lady Guard takes another close district setback

BULLARD - The Shelton School of Dallas came on strong in the second half to hand The Lady Guard a TAPPS, District 4- 3A loss, 57-53 on Saturday afternoon at the Herrington gym on the Brook Hill campus.
Brook Hill led, 15-8 after one period, but Shelton came back to tie it up at the half 24-24.
Angela Nixon scored six of her game-high 24 points for Shelton in the third period to give the visitors a 39-37 lead going in to the final quarter.
Jenny Anderson and Erica Eden led a fourth quarter comeback for Brook Hill, as Anderson made three clutch field goals, and Eden added in two freethrows only to fall short in the end.
Eden once again led The Lady Guard in scoring with 16 points, adding nine assists and four steals. Eden was money at the freethrow line as well, going 8-of-10 in the game.
Lady Guard, Michelle Stephenson chimed in with 14 points, six assists, six steals, and seven rebounds.
Post player, Dara Udom added seven points, 14 rebounds and eight assists, while Amy Jo Teague scored seven points, made six assists, six rebounds, and five steals for Brook Hill in the narrow loss.
The Lady Guard will look to get back on the winning track on Tuesday night as they travel to play Dallas Lutheran at 6 p.m. in another district matchup.
