Key Clubbers to collect canned goods
On Friday, January 16, members of the Bullard High School Key Club will be participating in a "hunger lock-in". Between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. groups of students will be going door-to-door asking for your assistance in helping accumulate necessary items for their scavenger hunt. They will be searching for items such as canned corn, beans and jars of peanut butter.
"This is a fun way for us to get the community involved in what we are doing," said Key Club president, Monique Gordon. "We'll be knocking on your door soon."
The goal is to bring in over 200 food items from the scavenger hunt alone. In addition, club member will have to "purchase", by trading canned good items, certain "perks" during the lock-in: Snacks, movie passes and other entertainment opportunities will be available.
