Whataburger Classic tougher test for Panthers
      BURLESON -- The Bullard Panthers record dropped to 11-9 ledger on the year over the holiday break as one of 16 teams playing in the highly competitive Blue Division of the Whataburger Holiday Classic, held at Burleson High School.

Texas rallies past Ohio State 24-21 in Fiesta
      GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Left out of the national title game, Colt McCoy and Texas made the most of their trip to the Fiesta Bowl. McCoy hit Quan Cosby for a 26-yard touchdown with 16 seconds to play, lifting thirdranked Texas to a 24-21 victory over No. 10 Ohio State on Monday night.

Faulk nominated for Old Spice, Red Zone Player of the Year
      As a result of this achievement, Blain Faulk is among a select group of players who are eligible to be selected as a national Red Zone Player of the Year and be honored in a full-page feature in USA Today in February. For the eighth straight year, Old Spice is recognizing high school football players who go above and beyond the call of duty, particularly in the Red Zone.

Minta Spears Freshman
      The Bullard Lady Panther basketball team recently won the McDonald's Brazos Valley All- Star Invitational in Bryan,defeating several state-ranked teams in the process. Freshman, Minta Spears was named the tournament Most Valuable PLayer for the tournament. Nine of 16 teams in the Bullard bracket were state-ranked teams.

The Guard claims third-place in Arlington over Holidays
      ARLINGTON - The Brook Hill Guard brought home third-place in the stateranked riddled, Arlington Oak Ridge over the holidays. The Guard started off with a 74-38, thumping of Fort Worth Bethesda, before beating Fort Worth-Carter Riverside, 77-47 to avacne in the winner's bracket.

Cushing does the pushing for 62-30 win over Lady Guard
      CUSHING - The Lady Guard of Brook Hill returned to the court after a two week lay-off, and found the road to Cushing to be a rough trip as the Lady guard lost, 62-30, on over the holiday break. Jo Davis pumped in 18 points for Cushing to lead to the win.

      After winning the McDonald's Brazos Valley Shootout MVP award last week, Freshman, Minta Spears was her usual noble and humble self, playing off the MVP award as a team tribute, and spoke of her teammates only.The old-school, 'Pistol' Pete Maravich certainly comes out in the youngsters demeanor and game.
