Achievers The University of Texas at Tyler Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society inducted 77 charter members, including one Bullard and two Flint residents. Bullard resident Clinton D. Redfern and Flint residents Miki Saegusa Cornett and Janis LaRaye Hollenshead were part of the group. Founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest and most selective honor society for all academic disciplines. Membership is by invitation only to the top 7.5 percent of second-semester juniors and the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students. It is a stamp of excellence that is recognized by graduate and professional school admissions committees and employers alike.
Phi Kappa Phi chapters are on more than 300 campuses in the United States, Puerto Rico and the Philippines. Each year, approximately 30,000 members are initiated. |
