On Wedneday, April 2, Gov. Betty Corcoran and Deputy Gov. Carolyn McCall presented a "Silver Book" on the life of John Howland, a passenger on The Mayflower ship to the genealogy department of the Tyler Public Library.

The book was given in memory of Howard Skelton, member of the Tyler Colony, who died Aug. 15, 2007.

Howland was one of his Mayflower ancestors. Barbara Galbreath, Access associate, accepted the book on behalf of the library.
