Brook Hill offers an array of camps over the summer

The Brook Hill School is planning a series of camps this summer to accomodate different interests.

Camps include:

Art

Brook Hill Art teacher Carrie Davis has given private art lessons for four years before coming to Brook Hill to develop the art program and teach students in grades Pre-K - fifth and Juniors.

She holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from UT Tyler.

Young artists will come to this camp to create, be inspired, and excel.

This camp will help grow their potential.

The camper will take home specific projects and create one-of-a-kind artwork, encompassing the basic elements of art, art history and special design techniques.

There will be an emphasis on strengthening drawing skills, and discovering a variety of media for utmost creativity.

Camp 1

Grades: Boys/Girls entering grades 1 - 5

Dates: June 9 - 12

Times: 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Location: The Brook Hill Lower School

Cost: $110 (includes snacks and art supplies)

Camp 2

Grades: Boys/Girls entering grades 6 - 12

Dates: June 23 - 26

Times: 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Location: The Brook Hill Lower School

Cost: $110 (includes snacks and art supplies)

Scrapbooking

This camp will be led by Brook Hill teachers - Laurie Carter (PreK) and Karessa Baird (1st grade).

Each camper will need to bring 25-30 related photos to place in an album.

At the end of this session, the camper will take home a 7x7 completed album.

Camp

Grades: Boys/Girls entering grades 1 - 5

Dates: June 23 - 27

Times: 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Location: The Brook Hill Lower School

Cost: $100 (includes a complete scrapbooking kit, additional supplies can be purchased)

Storytelling

This camp will be led by Brook Hill teachers - Karessa Baird (1st grade) and Jill McKenzie (2nd grade). These teachers are passionate about reading and have taught using the Lucy Calkins Reader's Workshop approach.

They aspire to challenge students to take pleasure in reading by using multiple approaches including story telling, reader's theater, poetry, literature circles, and various other methods.
