! The Cherokee County Democratic Club will meet at 7 p.m Thursday at The Wok on Hwy. 69 in Jacksonville. The Texas Democratic Women will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the same location. At the meeting, we will review the historic Texas Primary. They will also discuss delegate information and convention rules in preparation for the March 29 Democratic County Convention conducted by the Democratic Party and to be held in the district courtroom on the second floor at 10 a.m. at the Rusk Courthouse. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

! Bullard Band Boosters is holding a spring bazaar and garage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday April 12 at Bullard High School. Organizers ask for support for band by donating garage sale items. ! The Hospice of East Texas is offering a free workshop for parents who are caring for grieving children. Meeting in a small, confidential group, for four consecutive Tuesdays, the workshop provides adults tools to help children cope with the grief process. Workshops begin Tuesday, April 1 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pat Oge Center for Living at 4111 University Blvd., Tyler.

! The Brook Hill School is hosting its 2008 Brook Hill School Auction,"A Night at the Museum" on March 29. This will be an evening of fellowship and entertainment, food and many auction items. There will be an array of both live and silent auction items; ranging from sports packages, to vacations, to specialty items, from donors and Brook Hill supporters.
