Bullard places high at the Troup track meet

Recently Bullard's track teams competed in the Shuttlesworth Meet held in Troup.

The meet was shortened due to lightening but all field events and some running events were able to be completed.

The junior varsity boy's team finished fourth with Dalton Simonek winning second in pole vault, and Shaq Marable claiming second in the discus and third in the shot put.

The Panther's varsity boys finished first among eight schools.

First place medals went to Shane Paige in the pole vault; Jose Torres in the high jump; Daniel Howard in the triple jump and David French in the discus.

Second Place medals went to Brandon Davis in the shot put and Dejuan Shelton in the long jump.

Doug Lake claimed third place in the 3200 meter run.

Other athletes receiving points at the meet were Daniel Howard, fourth place and Chad Hollie, fifth place in the long jump.

Dejuan Shelton, fourth place in the triple jump; Ryan Rumbelow, fourth in the discus and Willie Gordon achieved 6th place in the shot put.

The Lady Panthers placed 3rd at the same meet.

Ashley Ricci placed 1st in the high jump with a jump of 5'0".

In the discus Ashlee Shidler placed third with a throw of 88'2" and Shelby Taylor placed 5th with a throw of 82'6".

Deborah Thompson tied for 1st in the long jump with a jump of 14'1‰" and Ariel Hamby placed fifth with a jump of 13'10".

Emmy Long placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 27'5 …" and Ashley McConnell placed second in the pole vault.

Hillary Kempton placed sixth with a time of 14:34 in the 3200 meter run.

The Panther's Track teams will compete next in White Oak on Thursday.

Following the White Oak meet Bullard will host their first home meet March 27.
