The group gathers around Whitney as she signs a letter of intent; agreeing to play volleyball for Brookhaven College.
Whitney Lust recently signed to play volleyball with Brookhaven College in Dallas.

Lust served as the Lady Panthers team captain in 2007, was named First Team All- District and Academic All- District. She was also nominated for All-East Texas and All- State awards.

"Whitney is a great asset to have on any team," Head Volleyball Coach Kala Laningham said. "She has served as a catalyst for several great things in Bullard volleyball. I can only imagine that she will continue to impact the team that she plays on in the future the same way."

Lust has played in 86 games, recording 759 assists, 202 digs, 52 aces and 31 kills.

Her season high was made in a five-game win over Van with 43 assists to clinch playoff berth over Van.

"I'm really excited to continue playing volleyball and to expand my horizon," Lust said.

Lust is undecided as to what major she will choose but is excited to meet people and gain new experiences in a city not so familiar.

"SportsVolleyball" Director Scott Dillingham said that after coaching Whitney since she was 15 years old he believes that she is a perfect fit for Brookhaven's program.

Brookhaven, under the coaching of Jason Hopkins, has claimed back to back national titles.

Hopkins said two All- American setters have been chosen from the team in the past four years so it's important to bring in someone of the same caliber. "I look forward to working with her and getting back to nationals with Miss Lust leading the way." Hopkins said.
