Netters compete in tourney

The Bullard varsity tennis team recently competed in the Bear Club Tournament.

Amber Braaten placed first in the tournament defeating Stone of White Oak, 8-4 in the girls' singles.

In girls' doubles, Michelle Stephenson and Kailee Schmitz were defeated 8-6 by McFadden and Thomas also of White Oak leaving them in second in the tournament.

Crystal Hill and Jade Thompson made a strong effort but were defeated by two teams out of Gladewater.

Christopher Braaten dominated the boys' singles matches and defeated Pannell of White Oak, 8-3 to achieve first place in the tournament.

Ryan Morris and Zach Clark were defeated by Hott and Williams of Gladewater 8-9 giving the boys the second place title.

Donald Love and Damien Pettigrew were defeated 2-8 in the consolation bracket by Ham and Carrington of White Oak.

In mixed doubles, Colin Shivers and Nicole Stiefel were defeated by Norris and Ortiz of White Oak 4-8 in the Consolation bracket.
