Reagan Kelly of Bullard sold a Reserve Grand Champion Hampshire Hog for $51,000 at the National Western Stock Show's Auction of Junior Livestock Champions on Jan. 25 in Denver, Col.

Ninety-five animals, steers, lambs, hogs, and goats, sold for approximately $601,459 at the 2008 auction.

Ten percent of each winning bid will be contributed to the National Western Scholarship Trust that supports 74 agribusiness and rural medical scholarships at universities and community colleges throughout Colorado and Wyoming.

This year the contribution totaled approximately $60,145.

More than 920 animals from 24 states competed in the national junior competition.
