Plano hosts Candy Cane Classic

Gymnasts from Texas East Gymnastics kicked off their Optional Competition season last weekend in Dallas.

Infinite Bounds of Plano hosted the Candy Cane Classic and brought in competitors form around the Metroplex as well as south Texas and even Kansas. "The level of competition was just right given that most of our gymnasts will be competing well into April and May. We really tried to use the Candy Cane Classic as a `progress report' so we can better gage what skills we have command of, what combinations the judge gives us credit for and to see how we handle competition stress," said Coach Martin Parsley.

Denaya Moore - 36.625 All Around 3rd, Morgan Key - 9.525 Vault 3rd

The Level 7 and the Level 8 Teams also took second place in the team competition.
