Lady Panthers begin season with scrimmage

The Lady Panthers softball team traveled to Hallsville recently to open up the 2008 season in a scrimmage against the Lady Bobcats.

The teams played to a scoreless 6 inning game with many highlights for the Lady Panthers.

Erin Kipp pitched 6 innings striking out 6, with no walks, and allowing only 1 hit. Leading the offense for the Panthers were Alayna Kipp who went 2-3 and Valarie Roberts going 1-3.

Outstanding defensive plays were made by several Lady Panthers during the game, Allison Burton and Erin Kipp teamed up for a strikeout / throw out in the 5th inning to end the only opportunity last night for the Lady Bobcats.

Ariel Hamby, Valarie Roberts, Mandy Gillard, Alayna Kipp, and Whitney Whorthen all made outstanding play on defense for the Lady Panthers.
