Weaver and Moody earn band honors

The Bullard High School Panther Band competed in the All-Area Band tryouts on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008 hosted by Chapel Hill High School.

Bullard students, Trent Weaver and David Moody were among the more than 1,400 area students competing.

Weaver and Moody were each selected as "first chair" and named to the Texas All-State Band. Weaver playing contra-alto clarinet and Moody playing the timpani.

The students will perform with the Texas All-State Band in San Antonio at the annual Texas Music Educators Association conference.

The boys will rehearse Feb. 13-16 and the concert will be presented Feb. 16 beginning at 3:15 p.m. in Ballroom A of the Henry G. Gonzales Convention Center downtown.
