Beckworth runs unopposed for DA seat

      Cherokee County District Attorney Elmer Beckworth has officially filed to seek re-election in 2008. Beckworth will be a candidate for his third term as district attorney and will be on the ballot in the Democratic Primary in March.

TxDOT: FM 2493 culvert replacement under way
      Construction crews are scheduled to replace a drainage culvert on the north end of the FM 2493 or Old Jacksonville Highway project - where the project has remained unpaved - began on Monday. The culvert replacement will approximately three weeks, weather permitting.
