2493 NEARS COMPLETIION

The construction project to expand FM 2493 from two lanes to five between SH 57 or Grande Boulevard and FM 2813 in Gresham is nearly complete - but not quite.

Crews are scheduled to replace a drainage culvert on the north end of the project - - where the project has remained unpaved - in the next week, according to Texas Department of Transportation Public Information Officer Larry Krantz.

The culvert replacement will take three to five days, weather permitting.

Once the replacement is finished, all major obstructions to traffic on this project should be over, and all construction work should be done by May.

The project is six months ahead of schedule in spite of two months of rain last summer, according to Krantz.
