Local pros among honorees at banquet Darrell Chase, the head pro at Peach Tree Golf Club in Bullard, was named Golf Professional of the Year at the East Texas Chapter of the PGA of America's 2007 Christmas and Annual Awards banquet. Cody Harrison of Emerald Bay Club in Bullard was tabbed the Assistant Golf Professional of the Year. In other awards, the Junior Golf Leaders went to Roy Pace and Mike Williams of Alpine Target Golf in Longview; and John Sikes of Hollytree Country Club is the Teacher of the Year. Also, Sean Hanson of Pinecrest Country Club in Longview is the Merchandiser of the Year, Private; Charlie Mabe of the Links at Land's End in Yantis is the top merchandiser, public/ resort; Tom Campbell of Emerald Bay won the Bill Strausbaugh Award; and PGA Member Justin Orbin was named Player of the Year.
