2008: Year of Growth, Success and Firsts
      BULLARD - Although I personally joined in midway through the 2008 year at Bullard, I had the pleasure to witness many great games, individual and team honors roll in, and hopefully I can do the past 365 days of Bullard sports with some highlights.

Denmon praises God on basketball floor College life moving ahead of schedule
      LAKEWOOD, COLO. - It was just a year ago at this time that Spencer Denmon was putting up double-digits in points and rebounds in just about every game for the Brook Hill Guard. Those efforts resulted in Denmon becoming The Brook Hill School's. first-ever, basketball signee, inking on with Colorado Christian University.

      FISHING Hall Nominations Sought Individuals or organizations that have made a lasting contribution to freshwater fishing in Texas may be nominated through Feb. 27 for induction into the Texas Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. Nominees may be anglers, fisheries professionals or organizations. The nominee must be a Texan or Texas organization.

Panther boys face test in Whataburger Classic
      BURLESON - The Bullard Panthers will be looking to better their 10-7 record over the holiday break as one of 16 teams playing in the highly competitive Whataburger Holiday Classic held at Burleson High School.

Bullard Player of the Week
Josiah Rosebury Senior Guard
      Rosebury was one of two varsity players that started the year in the gym with new head coach Hank Hargraves, and has proven to be a true leader on the court. Rosebury recently had a season-high 23 points in a win over Van.

Little Panthers
      Little Panthers, Sarah Ritch joins in with the other elementary age hoopsters entertaining the audience at the recent Bullard-Hallsville boys basketball game. The Little Panthers work out once a week at the elementary school, and will be performing halftime entertainment at various basketball games at East Texas high schools and colleges.

UT Tyler Patriots baseball hitting camp Jan. 2
      TYLER - The UT Tyler baseball program's final hitting camp of the 2008-2009 winter season will feature special guest Ronnie Ortegon, the hitting coordinator for the Cincinnati Reds. The camp will be held on Jan. 2, 2009 at Irwin Field on the UT Tyler campus from 1-5 p.m. The event is open to all players from age 10 to seniors in high school.

Brook Hill Player of the Week
Tyler Baker Sophomore Guard
      Baker returned to play just two games ago and has already solidified the point guard position for head coach Wally Dawkins. Baker, a two-way all-state football player, has been in double figures in scoring in his two games, and set the offense with assists and steals to lead to Brook Hill wins over Wells and Fort Worth Bethesda.
