Moore unanimous All-District honors for Bullard Panthers

Although the Bullard Panthers football season ended on a down-note with a surprising loss to Spring Hill, the Panthers senior captain Charlie Moore, along with nine others garnered 2008 District 17-3A All-District nominations named last Wednesday night.

Moore was a unanimous choice as the District Offensive Player of the Year.

Moore was also honored as the Class 3A Ford Tough Player of the Week for his 301 yards of rushing and 197 passing for a seven touchdowns in a first-ever win over Tatum.

On the year the MVP totaled out with 171 carries, for 1141 yards for a 6.7 average, and 114.1 per game with 19 rushing scores. Passing, he made 265 attempts, for 142 completions, and 1915 total passing yards, worth 195.8 yards per game, 20 TD's, and was picked off eight times.

Moore combined accounted for 3056 combined yards, and a total of 39 touchdowns.

Moore also was voted to the first team defense at safety with 48 assists, 29 solos, for 77 total, two fumble recoveries, and two interceptions.

The quarterback/safety was joined on the first team offense by record-setting wide receiver, Daniel Howard. Both were two-, and three-way nominees.

Moore was selected as a first team safety along with the MVP kudo, and Howard a second team kick returner, and honorable mention at cornerback.

As a wider receiver, Howard made 59 receptions, good for 912 yards, 15.5 per catch, and 91.2 per game and scored nine touchdowns.

Defensively he came on strong in district play to finish the year with 25 assists, 20 solos for 45 total tackles, adding four caused fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and three interceptions, with a game-high, two against Gladewater.

Joining Moore on the first team defense are junior multipurpose, and punter, Nick Rumbelow, voted Utility Player of the Year.

Rumbelow missed the early part of the season but came on to make 41 assists, 13 solo tackles for a total of 54, causing one fumble and making one interception. Rumbelow also handled the punting duties, played wide receiver, tight end, running back, and quarterback in his season.

Senior, Preston Seaton- Knox was the choice as Special Team Player of the Year.

Seaton-Knox was instrumental with punt and kick returns and made some huge plays in kick coverage. Knox played wide receiver (19-228- 12.0-25.3) on offense, and cornerback on defense (53a-14s- 67tt, 1 cf, 2 fr, 6 int), and a key difference maker at all facets of the special teams.

Second team Panthers voted on the offense was wide receiver, Brandon Beavers (31-427-13.8- 42.7, 6 TD), and senior lineman, Blain Faulk was named to both the offensive and defensive lines.

Faulk had a season high 22 tackles against Rusk and totaled out his high school tenure with 70 solos, 13 assists, for 83 total.

Honorable mention honors went to junior wide receiver, Koby Greene (14-182-13.0-18.2), senior offensive linemen, Blake Dover and Colton Sheffield, along with junior trenchman, David French.

Junior Stephen Langston (42-14-56, 1cf, 1 int) got the nod at outside linebacker, along with Howard at cornerback.
