DALLAS - Bullard's, Tammy Rooney ran this past Sunday in the Dallas White Rock Half Marathon, placing third in her age group.

Rooney ran a 1:48:27 over the 13.1 mile course in the 50- 54 women's age group.

Disappointed in her time, Rooney finished up the race and with disgust got in her car and drove home to Tyler.

Once she got home, she got on-line to find out everybody had a slow day and she garnered the third-place spot.

Overall Rooney was 127th out of 3,374 female contestants, and the race combined had 5,773 runners.

After returning home and discovering her top-three finish, Rooney said, "I learned again that you should never give up, always do your best, and know that it was your best."
