In one of his first games on the hardwood and three days practice, Jeremey Chappelle gave the Brook Hill fans and head coach, Wally Dawkins a taste of things to come although it was in a losing effort.

The Brook Hill Guard, in a back-and-forth match up on Friday morning, lost the second game of the Burger King Classic, 86-83, to a talented Clarksville team.

DeCarlos Williams led Clarksville (2-1) with 16 points. Demontrae Scales and H.B. Rosser added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Jeremy Chappelle led the Guard (3-2) with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Also adding in for Brook Hill were guards, Andre Huang and Mason Spradlin adding nine and eight points, respectively.

Courtney Thomas added nine rebounds and three blocks to his six points for Brook Hill, while Heath Dickey, another football recruit, snagged seven rebounds and added four points in the paint..

Former longtime Whitehouse coaching guru Wally Dawkins and his Guard, provided a stiff test for the Tigers, and was pleased overall with the showing with such little time to work with the football players.

"We played the other night after one practice and it was pretty ugly," said Dawkins about the effort. "But the new kids are really starting to pick up the way we do things, and although we lost to Clarksville, we did some good things to build on, and it has been nice getting some size inside to help Courtney (Thomas) out."

The Guard will entertain Tenaha in a game on Tuesday night before playing in the Huntington Tournament beginning on Thursday and running through Saturday.
