Tigers take Burger King win over The Guard at classic
      In one of his first games on the hardwood and three days practice, Jeremey Chappelle gave the Brook Hill fans and head coach, Wally Dawkins a taste of things to come although it was in a losing effort. The Brook Hill Guard, in a back-and-forth match up on Friday morning, lost the second game of the Burger King Classic, 86-83, to a talented Clarksville team.

      LONGVIEW - The Guard was finally in full gear last week as the football players, turned basketball players to join in for a 64-53, win over Trinity Christian at Titan gymnasium last Tuesday night.

      FERRIS - It was a cold Tuesday night both outside and on the basketball floor for the Bullard Panther inside Yellowjacket gymnasium, as Bullard lost their first game of the year with a 69-48 loss at the hands of a sharp-shooting, Ferris squad.

Win over Maidens sets up showdown with No. 1 Diboll
      JACKSONVILLE - The third-ranked Lady Panthers of Bullard proved they could play the slow-down game on Tuesday night, with a 37-30 win over a deliberate Jacksonville Maidens squad. Shooting poorly from the field, and Jacksonville running time off the clock, the teams took a 15-15 tie into the intermission.

      Becky Taylor, was recently named last week's American Southwest Conference East Division Player of the Week, leading the way for UT Tyler offensively and defensively to another good start for head coach Terri Dieke's team this season.

      LINDALE - The annual Hoops Heaven Tournament will be held this upcoming weekend, with both the Bullard boys and girls slated for action in the three-day event. The girls tournament will be played in tournament format and the boys games played in an pool-play format with all teams guaranteed three games.

      A transfer from John Tyler, Thomas has added an inside presence early on for The Guard and drawn praise for his effort at both ends of the floor according to Head Coach Wally Dawkins. Thomas scored 20 points in a recent win over Longview Trinity Christian.
