Pow-wow at the Primary
      On Monday, Nov. 24, 2008 the Indians came to Bullard Primary School. Kevin Alexander from the Alabama-Coushatta tribe wowed the primary students with his Indian dancing. Kevin is an award-winning dancer and competes all over the United States.

Local author to hold book signing at Lady Jane's
      Bullard's Joan "Jonikay" Pace will hold a book signing for her first novel, "Voices from the Heart" at Lady Jane's Antique and Photography Mall, 202 E. Woodrow in Jacksonville Saturday, Dec. 6. Pace, the founding editor of the Bullard Weekly News, will do a book signing from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Brookshire's needs more donations for food drive
      With just a few weeks remaining in the Spirit of Christmas Food Drive, more donations are needed to help the 15,000 families targeted to receive assistance this year. The food drive ends Dec. 22 in most areas.

      Kindergarten and first grade students at Bullard Primary School participated in character education classes on thankfulness during the month of October. The two students from each class who seemed to most represent an attitude of thankfulness were chosen by their teachers as November's "Kids of Character.

      It is the perfect time of the year to show "Compassion" and that's what Bullard Elementary has seen with its "stars" this month. These students are friendly to everyone. They do good things for others and say nice things to others; they're considerate, kind, and respectful, and most of all, they help those who need help.
