BULLARD - The Brook Hill Guard made some more football history at Herrington Field on Friday night with a 35- 18 win over a talented, Fort Worth Calvary Christian Academy squad in TAPPS Division III, Area action.

For the first time in the three-years of undefeated league play with post-season eligibility, Brook Hill advances past the first round.

For the second week Ross Nichols and Luke Molidor took over for the offense to lead to the win as Nichols threw for 91-yards and a touchdown, while Molidor rumbled for 127-yards and scored three touchdowns.

The Guard flexed their muscles a bit winning the flip and electing to kickoff into a gusting wind. Just for grins, The Guard started the second half the same way too.

The first kick back-fired though as a five-play drive by Calvary, put the visitors on the board first.

Molidor countered the 6-0, early deficit with a 56-yard scamper on the second offensive play from scrimmage for Brook Hill to even the game up.

J.B. Moss made a huge difference in the kicking game all night, as he tacked on his first of five consecutive extra-point boots in the game. Moss also had four punts for a 56.3 average, with a 78-yarder that later proved out to handcuff the Conquerors.

Molidor turned to defense to add on to the lead, forcing and making a fumble recovery at the Conquerors 27-yard-line to set up another first quarter score.

Looking at a fourth and short for a first down, Nichols went to the air and found Jeremey Chappelle for a 31- yard scoring toss and a lead The Guard would never give up at 14-6.

Chappelle added on 12 tackles for the game, and grabbed four receptions for 81- yards and the one score.

Matt Ruark rumbled in from 13-yards out midway through the second quarter to stake a 21-6, halftime lead.

"We were still really sluggish I the first half, especially on the offensive line," said head coach, Jim Klaczak about the opening two quarters. "But we made a few adjustments and the line knew what they needed to do. In the second half, we had good drives when we got the ball, but we had a hard time stopping them until it was too deep for comfort in our end of the field.

"But the kid's battled hard, and that was a very talented team with a lot of speed so I am going to enjoy this for a day and then get ready for next week."

Conquerors, big fullback, Jonathan West rammed in from seven-yards to account for the lone third period score, and once again the extra point failed for a 21-12, Guard lead.

Molidor started the final quarter with a 27-yard scoring run, and ended the scoring with 1:12 left in the game as he bulled over from eight-yards.

Sandwich in-between, credit a scoring toss for Calvary and another missed PAT pass wrapping up the scoreboard damage.

Kip Picarella set up the late score as the lineman fielded an on-side kick attempt, and almost scored for the second time on the season.

Defensive tackle, Jacob Johnson had a season high 13, tackles, forcing a fumble, and making three quarterback sacks. Chappelle was close behind with 11 stops at linebacker.

Tyler Baker made an interception at the Calvary goal-line, and recovered a fumble as did Molidor and a Picarella addition in the third quarter.

Molidor added eight stops in limited linebacker duty, and created a first quarter fumble.

The Conquerors end their first season of 11-man football with a 7-3 record.

The Guard will hit the road play to play Katy Pope John Paul XXIII or Austin Regents in TAPPS region semi-finals next Saturday, in Waco at Reicher High School, with a 2 p.m. kickoff slated.
