Cowgirl sticks to her guns; Miller commits to Wyoming
      BULLARD - Calli Miller has known for some time that she will play volleyball in Wyoming, and she has known that she is gonna be a Cowgirl. Laramie, Wyoming will be home away-from home for the next four years as Miller abided by her earlier verbal commitment and signed the national letter-of-intent with the University of Wyoming.

8th ranked Lady Panthers defense stymies Henderson
      HENDERSON - Tenacious defense by the eighth-ranked, Bullard Lady Panthers led to a 60-17, blowout win over Henderson at Lions gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Panthers (2-0), got 21-points and 19 rebounds, from Lamar University signee, Danielle Heithoff, with nine points, leading to a 17-2, first quarter lead for Bullard.

Eight might not be enough
      BULLARD - The eighth-ranked, Bullard Lady Panthers flexed their muscles and poured it on in the second half to take a 68-49 win over Robert E. Lee on Monday night at the new Panther gymnasium, as Bullard swept all three girls games on opening night.

Panthers basketball new era begins
      The new era of boys Panther hoops kicked in with the hiring of former East Chambers, and a district Coach of the Year, Hank Hargarves just before school started. The Panthers hosted a herd of Mustangs to a Saturday morning scrimmage, against Martin's Mill and Slocum.

In 1 day: 2-mile run, 287-mile road trip, and a basketball game
      ROUND ROCK - The Class 3A, girls State Cross Country meet was momentous for the Bullard program and freshman, Minta Spears covering more ground than you can imagine in one day of varsity competition. Spears began the day making a solo bid for the state's top runners at Old Settlers Park, as one of 109 runners in the Class 3A state cross-country meet.

Pave the way continues path to stadium
      'Pave the Way', is an ongoing history-maker, focusing on raising money for scholarships. The goal of the Bullard Booster Club is to be able to give at least $1000.00 to each child that applies for our scholarship. This will not happen without your help, and with it, a chance to have your own place in Bullard, with a walk-way with personalized brick as the pathway.

Brook Hill league offers more local youth hoops
Local youth basketball registrations
      BULLARD-The Brook Hill Boys Basketball League is now accepting team entries for their 2009 Youth Basketball League. Divisions will be offered for grades 1st- 2nd, 3rd-4th, 5th-6th, and 7th-8th. Games will begin on Jan. 10th. Each team will play six games and participate in a season ending division tournament on Feb. 21st.

Bullard youth basketball draft this week
      The Panther Basketball Youth League for boys and girls in grades first through sixth will hold their draft on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Bullard High School Gym. The draft times will be as follows: 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. - 1st and 2nd grade boys and girls; 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. - 3rd and 4th grade boys and girls; 11 a.m. until 12 p.m.

      CROCKETT - The stateranked, Lady Goats of Groesbeck had never seen the Lady Panthers before they walked into Bulldog gymnasium on Tuesday night. They had heard Bullard was a slow starter, so Groesbeck took their time getting to the game, showing up 20-minutes before gametime.

      The area champion, Lady Panther volleyball team post season honors began to roll in with the recent release of the 2008 17-3A All-District team. League champion, Tatum, and the Lady Panthers dominated the superlatives and the first two teams.

      The Bullard Panthers football season ended in a disappointing loss to Spring Hill in the season ender recently. The season can still go down as a memorable one of transition with a brand-new stadium, and some new standards to break for generations to come.

For the first time in the three-years of undefeated league play with post-season eligibility, Brook Hill advances past the first round.
