The 12th grade U.S. History class from The Brook Hill School traveled to Natchez and Vicksburg, Mississippi this past Sunday and Monday. While in Natchez, the group toured Vicksburg National Military Park was taken with an emphasis on the actions of the Texas troops who were helping to defend the city during the 1863 siege. The journey concluded with a brief tour of the Old Courthouse where the surrender of the city took place.
