BMS plays for district title Thursday at Panther stadium
CHAPEL HILL - The Panthers eighth grade 'A' team will play for the district title and put their undefeated (8-0), record on the line at home on Thursday as they close out the season against Spring Hill. A win would complete the first-ever, undefeated middle school football season for Bullard.
The Bullard eighth grade 'A' team kept their undefeated season intact on Thursday night, scoring in every quarter to take a 33-0 win over the Chapel Hill at Bulldog Stadium.
Houston Alexander scored two touchdowns and accounted for 62-yards rushing. Alexander also completed a halfback pass for another TD of 55 yards to Sal Guiliano.
Starting quarterback, Clint Taylor chipped in wit 53-yards on the ground and one score, and his backup, Colton Mebane scored his first touchdown of the season on a quarterback sneak.
Adding into the mix on both sids of the ball was J.P Hendrix with another 33-yards on the ground and scored a two-point conversion.
Bullard placekicker, Weston Gray kicked his first extra point of the year in the fourth quarter.
Defensively, Trevor Rumbelow, Alexander, Hendrix, and Guiliano made key plays and held the Bulldogs scoreless for the win.
The Chapel Hill eighth grade 'B' team won handing a 6- 0 setback to the Panthers.
Chapel Hill also swept the two seventh grade contests. The 'A' game went to the Bulldogs, 30-0, and the 'B' team dropped by a count of 16-0.
