CHAPEL HILL - After an encouraging start and a little momentum for the Panthers, Bullard jumped out to a first quarter lead before Chapel Hill 'Let them Dogs Out' en route to a 66-27, win Friday night.

Bulldog running back Matthew Tucker slowly began to take over midway through the second quarter running for a 66-yard score and the conversion as his squad took an 8-7, halftime lead in front of 2,200 fans at Bulldog Stadium.

Tucker continued his Senior Night celebration and final home game with a career high, 433-yards, and the majority coming in a 58-point Bulldog second half. Tucker had scoring runs of 66-, 56-, 85-, 5-, and 43-yards before turning the scoring over to this supporting cast.

"The kids came out and really played some inspired and hard-nosed football for the first three quarters," said head coach, Jim Taylor via the phone on Sunday. "But Matthew Tucker is the best back in the district and a major college player and he finally got cranked up.

"We had some injuries in the game and had to put players into game conditions having never played some spots before, and the continuity just wasn't there after that, and they broke some big plays on us," Taylor added.

Bullard (3-6; 1-3), put the first points up and held a brief lead on a Charlie Moore run from five-yards out. Danny Vega's point-after boot was good for the 7-0 lead.

The Panthers got a third quarter scoring strike from Moore to Daniel Howard to narrow the Bulldog lead.

Two-way starter, Koby Greene caught a fourth quarter score from 11-yards out, accounting for four catches and 53-yards on the night for the offense.

Howard would later close out the Bullard scoring with a one-yard blast with eight-seconds left in the game.

Chapel Hill (7-1; 3-1), rolled up 544 yards on the ground as Darius Black, and Ke'Andre Goss ran for TD's, while teammate Laramie Lee returned a punt 48-yards for the Bulldogs.

Panther quarterback, Moore topped the 250-yard passing barrier again, with 284 yards, while completing 17-of- 35 and suffered one interception. Moore added another 44- yards on 15 carries to total out with 328 yards combined.

Junior, Daniel Howard was a key with six receptions for 154 yards, and rushed for another 16-yards for 314-yards, and a touchdown on the ground and through the air.

Marquise Franklin had a good game on both sides of the ball, rushing for 35-yards on nine carries, while chipping in with five tackles.

Kolby Hanzel was the leading tackler on the night with seven stops, and Moore was right behind with six stops. Preston Seaton-Knox and Brandon Noble joined Franklin with five tackles, and Blain Faulk, Nick Rumbelow, Danny Vega and Stephen Langston added four stops each. Vega caused on fumble but the Bulldogs finally regained the errant pigskin in a pile-up.

THIS WEEK

The Panthers will hopefully celebrate their Senior Night in the battle of the Panthers as Bullard close out the season entertaining a Spring Hill team that is much better than their 0- 4 district ledger shows. Spring Hill lost in a nail-biter to Tatum, 35-28 last Friday.
