City to discuss sewer easements, ORCA
In the city council meeting this Tuesday, the agenda is going over several items about a sewer system and the ORCA grant.
City officials are preparing for future growth and dealing with existing sewer capacity issues in the existing sewer system.
After reports from city staff, the council will hear from William Adair, of Memphis, Tennessee, about a possible outlet mall and related sewer needs.
The city will then hear a presentation from Bucher, Willis and Ratcliff on sanitary sewer plants.
And finally, the council could take action to appoint a chairperson to a committee that would research sewage plant options.
Also, the city will be acting upon purchasing several sewer easements from residents. Once the easements are purchased, the city can begin construction on a sewer expansion project with grant money.
The city council could be authorizing the city manager to hire a firm to conduct a demographic study to continue pursuing Home Rule.
The city council will go into executive session to for an annual review of City Manager Larry Morgan's compensation package.
