Students Attend Academic Conference at TJC

Twenty students and coaches from Bullard High School attended the Student Activities Conference at Tyler Junior College this Saturday, October 20.

Participants were involved in various workshop style activities in order to prepare for the upcoming UIL Academic competition year. Presenters from the state level shared their expertise in a variety of ways. Some students were able to visit with and ask pertinent questions of the test creators themselves; some were able to watch presentations of previous state participants, and still others participated in hands-on activities such as set/scenery construction and painting for One-Act Play.

"This event is especially helpful to younger students who are unfamiliar with the events offered at the high school level and to students who are looking to broaden their field of interest from events they normally participate in," said Tabitha Hippler, UIL Academic Coordinator for the high school.
