Youth Rally 'Harvest Fest '08' starts in Jacksonville
2008 brings about the sixth annual Harvest Fest. Harvest Fest 2008 is a free Christian youth rally held in Jacksonville, Texas. It will begin at 6:00 on September 27 at Jacksonville's Tomato Bowl. This year's lineup includes Dove award winning - KJ-52 and two East Texas bands - Considered Rubbish and Mud Creek Revival. The guest speaker is Leighton Flowers, and Patti Foster will be the MC. Also, extreme skateboarder Tim Byrne will be outside the Tomato Bowl at 5 pm to kick things off.
The event began in 2003 when some friends were inspired to host a youth rally promoting youth involvement and unity between local churches and communities. This is a great opportunity for Christians from all denominations to work together to reach our common goal of leading people to Christ and to make a difference in this generation. Harvest Fest has seen tremendous growth over the last few years in both attendance and support. The first year the crowds ranged between 250 and 300, and last year one count placed the crowds at over 700. All people in the East Texas area are invited to come out for a night of fun in a safe drug free environment to learn a little more about Jesus Christ and His saving grace and peace.
