The 2008 football season opener could not have had a script written up any better for the Bullard Panthers.

Christening a brand-new, state-of-the-art stadium with a 38-21, win over Palestine- Westwood.

After a brief opening ceremony led by Bullard superintendent, Keith Bryant, and special guest Jim Wright, the crowd was treated to skydivers dropping in from above with the game ball.

Once the game got underway, quarterback and safety, Charlie Moore sprung out with the "You want some Moore Show?"

The senior signal-caller ran for the first touchdown at the new Panther Stadium, and ended the night with 148 yards on the ground in 20 carries. Moore added another 14- of-20 through the air for 214- yards, and three touchdowns.

And as if that were not enough, Moore intercepted one pass, recovered a fumble and made several solo tackles that saved points for his team.

"It was a great night," said the highly touted, four-sport dynamo, Moore. "The crowd was just great and the team really fed off the energy.

"THe line did a great job up front, and we played good enough to get the win, but we still have some things to get straightened out," Moore added, "but that will just come with time.

When he needed a break, Moore relied on Daniel Howard both running and catching, as Bullard built a 18- 14, halftime lead.

After Moore's 22-yard scamper got the scoreboard cranked up, Howard caught a Moore touchdown pass from 19-yards out for a 12-0, advantage as both PAT attempts were no good.

Westwood fought back with a couple of touchdowns to take a 14-12 lead.

Moore threw his second TD pass of the night in the second quarter as he found junior, Brandon Beavers behind the coverage for a 20- yard score, and the 18-14, intermission count.

Westwood's, D.J. Morrow scored his second TD of the night for Westwood for another very brief 21-18, Westwood lead.

Bullard however finished out the night with the rest of the scoring as Howard and Moore led to regaining the lead. Howard blasted in from 10- yards for a run to paydirt.
