East Texas Desperados roll like a train

Back row: Assistant Coach Steve Brooks, Trey Eschberger, Sam Saunders, Kody Welch, Austin Drawbond, Jake Green, Assistant Coach Bill Wood, and Head Coach Wayne Thomas. The East Texas Desperados, a select group of East Texas' best 14- under baseball players recently took the championship title at the prestigious, Ninth annual Brady Barton Tournament in Carthage, August 9-10.
The Barton tournament is put on every year in memory of Brady Barton, , a former Carthage baseball player who died of cancer.
All proceeds go from the entry fees, concessions, and merchandise will go towards helping kids with cancer.
The East Texas Desperados have been together since August 2007 and have a record of 36-4, with four tournament victories.
The team consists of kids from Bullard, Tyler, Troup, and Lindale.
Next on the agenda for the Desperados will be in Mansfield scheduled for Labor Day weekend.
