First Guard college hoopster treks to Colorado
      LAKEWOOD,CO. - This past season, Spencer Denmon of Brook Hill broke some new ground for the Guard basketball program as their first-ever, basketball signee this past season. The 6'8, Denmon is going to play at Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado which is 10 minutes west of Denver, Colorado.

      OVERTON - After the Overton Mustangs started the scrimmage with an attempt at intimidation with consecutive unsportsmanlike penalties, the Brook Hill Guard turned the table and took it to the Mustangs winning by a scrimmage score of 5-1.

Season opened with victory against Jacksonville Maidens
      BULLARD - The Bullard Lady Panthers took a 3-1, win over Jacksonville at the Bullard High School gymnasium on Tuesday night to begin the 2008 campaign. The Lady Panthers took the win with scores of 25-21, 25-8, 17-25 and 25-9.

      The East Texas Desperados, a select group of East Texas' best 14- under baseball players recently took the championship title at the prestigious, Ninth annual Brady Barton Tournament in Carthage, August 9-10. The Barton tournament is put on every year in memory of Brady Barton, , a former Carthage baseball player who died of cancer.
