They serve old-time burgers in the newest Bullard eatery, which opened July 23 drawing in large crowds for lunch.

Legend's Old-Time Burger Cafe serves never frozen burgers where all their meet is cut and ground at the restaurant. Legend's was so busy last week they had to ship some ground meet from their sister restaurant in Jacksonville.

Susette Beckham, owner of Legends, said the restaurant is still looking for Bullard employees, but that the job is difficult. Job duties include cutting and grinding all the meet and shaping them into patties and cutting individual french fries.

Beckham said that all food is cut and battered at the restaurant, from the chicken fried steak to the chicken strips.

The Beckham's decided to go into in the restaurant business seven years ago when they started McKenzies in Huntsville with a group of owners. But then they decided to go into business for themselves.

Five years later, they opened Legends Old-Time Burger Cafe in Jacksonville. And now Bullard's just opened.

Beckham said sales at the Bullard restaurant have been strong and a blessing.
