Two phases of a $28 million school bond package are about to be finished by the time school starts.

The only project that is really behind schedule is the Audrey Owens Auditorium at the high school, which will seat about 900 and will have a couple of additional classrooms. The facility should be finished in October, Superintendent Keith Bryant said.

The new elementary school should be finished in the beginning of August. A dedication for the elementary school will be at 2 p.m. Aug 24 at the school.

The new school has a library, gym, cafeteria and a stage with about 40 classes. Bryant said the school will not occupy the school at full capacity, to prepare for future growth.

Also, the Intermediate school is being remodeled and adding a library, offices and three classrooms. Construction on the football stadium continues, a dedication of the field should be the night of the first home game.
