Cherokee Civic Theatre announces summer camp
RUSK -- The Cherokee Civic Theatre is getting ready for another summer of fun with their Thespians N Training (TNT) summer camp.
This year marks the fifth year of CCT hosting the camp.
This year's producers are Judy Faye Garner and Debra Petri.
"I'm very excited to be working with great group of directors this year," Garner said, "they have been our mainstays for several summers. Without them, I don't think the camp would be happening."
Thespians 'N Training (TNT) 2008 is open to young people entering first through twelfth grades.
There will be three theatrical companies - two sessions for grades 1-3 and grades 4-6, with one session for grades 7- 12.
The TNT 2008 camp will be held at the Cherokee Civic Theatre on West 5th St. in downtown Rusk.
The TNT 2008 Directors are Jenni Daniels and Phyllis Johnson (grades 1-3), Jessica Breen-Ford (grades 4-6) and Castanya Breen (grades 7-12).
These ladies offer a wide range of experiences working with and teaching young people as well as personal and professional experience in the theatre arts.
Through a variety of ageappropriate activities, campers will learn about the theatre arts from all aspects - onstage, backstage and offstage - while improving the skills they already have.
There will be a grand finale showcase for family and friends on June 28.
Campers must be able to attend all camp sessions and their showcase - it won't be a show without them.
The camp fee is $40 for one camper, $35 for 2nd camper and $30 for 3rd camper for CCT season patrons and $50 for one camper, $45 for 2nd camper and $40 for 3rd camper for all others.
The fee per camper covers the entire two-week session and includes an official TNT 2008 camp T-shirt.
Enrollment fees are nonrefundable after June 1.
Submit a completed registration form and guidelines contract with registration fee to CCT no later than May 25.
Registration forms may also be found on the theatre's website, www.cherokeetheatre. net.
Credit card payments and phone reservations are not possible.
Space is limited so registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Campers will be called to confirm enrollment.
Because of the time constraints regarding rehearsals for the showcase performances, TNT reserves the right to not accept registrations from children who have conflicts that will prevent daily attendance at camp or at the showcase performances.
