OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
BHS students participate in charity
Bullard High School Key Clubbers participated in the Samaritan's Purse "Operation Christmas Child" for the fourth consecutive year.
Key Club members, as well as Kiwanis members, collected 30 boxes which will be delivered to children all over the world where there are limited, if any, resources for Christmas gifts.
Five Bullard High School Student Council representatives attended Texas A&M University Student Government Association's High School Leadership conference Nov. 16-18.
The theme of the conference was "Carpe Diem: Seize the Day."
The students spent the entire weekend on the Texas A&M campus participating in various activities designed to enhance the students' leadership qualities.
The students attended workshops, heard speakers, and worked on team building activities.
Eighty students from across the state attended, representing 48 high schools.
The five students were Ashley Watkins, Monique Gordon, Blain Faulk, Brandon Noble, and Ryan Hamilton.
The students were excited and enthusiastic about the weekend, and they have each said they plan to attend again next year.
Ryan said one of the most important things her learned was, "Part of being a good leader is learning to follow."
Brandon said, "I now have a new perspective on being a leader; you don't have to be the top dog to be the leader; there are other roles for leaders."
