Bullard Panthers tear down crosstown rival
By Kelly Griffith-Fields news@bullardnews.com

An interesting match-up occurred Thursday evening as the Bullard Panthers traveled just down the road to meet the Brook Hill Guard on the basketball court.

The teams faced off and the jump ball was tipped out by the Guard's Spencer Denmon, giving Bullard possession of the ball and they used it, going on to win 70-54.

The Panthers were led by Lance Anding who score 16 points throughout the night including two for 3 points.

Daniel Howard followed with 11 points many of which were made on lay-ups after stealing the ball from the Guard.

Austin Camp contributed 10 points, including two 3- pointers, to the Panthers victory; Josiah Rosebury added 9; Brandon Beavers, 7 and Andrew Barron, 6.

The score was close through the first half though the Panthers held the lead.

The Guard remained on the court during half time as senior Sakhairi Johnson was presented with a plaque.

Johnson will be graduating in December and would not be able to be recognized at Brook Hill's usual Senior Night so the Guard chose to use Thursday night's game for the occasion.

Top, Panther's Andrew Barron guards the Guard's Spencer Denmon as he inches closer to the goal. Above, Panther's Daniel Howard scores two points after stealing the ball from the Guard.
During the third period the Panthers pulled away so far that as much as the Guard tried they couldn't catch-up.

Spencer Denmon led the Guard both defensively and offensively racking up 15 points before fouling out in the fourth period.

Mason Spradlin followed with 14 points including one 3- pointer.

Collin Hanks totaled 13 points for the evening 9 of which came from 3-pointers.

The Guard varsity boys will compete next, Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m. against Grace at Brook Hill

The Bullard Panthers will travel to Pine Tree on Nov. 27 with the freshman game beginning at 5 p.m.
