Library extends hours for finals

The University of Texas at Tyler Robert R. Muntz Library will extend its hours for three days to accommodate students preparing for finals.

The library will remain open until 2 a.m. Sunday through Tuesday, Dec. 9 - 11.

"One of UT System's Student Government Association priorities was to have each campus provide a 24- hour quiet facility for study during finals week," said Duy-Ahn Doan, UT Tyler SGA vice president.

"We met with the provost, Dr. Rick Osburn, and Ms. Jeanne Pyle, director of the library, and they were graciously able to work out an agreement to extend UT Tyler's library hours for the Sunday, Monday and Tuesday of finals week. We'll look at student use before we decide what we'll do in the spring."

Only UT Tyler students with current IDs will be admitted during the extended hours. Students must bring correct change for copiers and vending machines as change will not be made during the hours of midnight - 2 a.m.

Free coffee will be available, compliments of the library. Food will not be allowed in the building, but covered drinks may be brought in.

For more information, contact the UT Tyler library, 903- 566-7342.
