Lady Panthers split openers

Bullard girls took to the court to compete with Henderson in the opening game of basketball season.

The freshman team was defeated 35-12 and the junior varsity won 51-23.

The varsity girls stormed the court to win 56-28.

Danielle Heithoff led the girls with 12 points; Hillary Philpott and Calli Miller each added 9; Elisa Lee, 8; Sarah Welling, 7 and Mallory Red added 4. Christian Hatten, Ally Covalt and Kayla Welling each added two points while Clarissa Kendrick contributed one.

The varsity girls will play again Thursday-Saturday in the Grace Tournament, while the freshman and junior varsity will be in the Mabank Tournament to be held Thursday and Friday.
