Miss RW&B Amber Baker is the daughter of Matthew and Nancy Baker.
Her essay reads:
I see a soldier, away from his family, fighting for the belief that his actions will in some way protect his loved ones, standing side by side with his brothers and sisters in arms, holding ideals he values even more than his own life.
That soldier is my father.
I've been raised from birth to understand the deep-rooted sense of honor that is upheld by our nation's greatest treasure - its veterans.
Furthermore, it is essential to honor the men and women of our Armed Forces who have valiantly defended our way of life throughout our nation's history by the tremendous sacrifices they have made to get our country where it is today.
Please allow me to honor my father and represent our great country with pride as Miss Red, White and Blue on Veterans' Day.
Whitney Lust is the daughter of Denise Greene and David Lust.
Her essay reads:
On November 11 we should all take a moment to remember those who have fought for us in a time of war and who risked their lives to help us have a better life.
If it were not for the veterans this might not be a liberated country as it is today, and we would not even have a Veterans' Day to praise our brave ones.
I want to represent Bullard as Miss Red, White and Blue because I am a patriot and I support the armed forces.
There is not a day that goes by that I am not thankful for the things I am given and the freedom that I have. After watching the news, I sit and think about how lucky I am to not have to be scared in my own home.
I know that I will represent Bullard well if I am named Miss Red, White and Blue.
Mallory Red is the daughter of Cheryl Red and Richard Red.
Her essay reads:
Veterans' Day is a time to honor our men and women for taking their time and courage to serve and protect us. Our troops deserve all the respect and honor as well as support possible. Without our troops, America would not be free today. Honoring our veterans is important to show respect and care for those who have fought for our freedom. I would like to represent Bullard as Miss Red, White and Blue in a way to better our community by getting them more involved in sending letters and care packages to our troops.
I personally would love to represent Bullard as Miss Red, White and Blue not only to honor our veterans but also to honor our liberty of being free. I would like to share with others my knowledge of honoring our veterans and being more involved with our troops.
