Middle school splits games against Brownsboro

The Panthers took their final road trip of the season over to Brownsboro to face the bears on Oct 30.

After a slow first quarter that ended with no score, the beginning of the Bears Halloween nightmare came in the shape of the Panthers' Houston Alexander, when he took the hand off and scored on a 9-yard touchdown run, the extra point was no good, Bullard 6 Brownsboro 0.

After the Panther defense forced a turnover on downs, Bullard's Houston Alexander scored his second touchdown, a 46 yard run with :59 seconds left in the half, quarterback Clint Taylor connected with TE Britt Thomas for a good extra point. Bullard 14 Brownsboro 0 at halftime.

In the third quarter, the bears running back Seth Middleton got Brownsboro on the score board with a 6-yard touchdown run and good extra point.

Colton Mebane ran back the kick off back 25 yards to set up the next score when the Panthers quarterback Clint Taylor tossed a screen pass down the left side to Alexander who then threw a pass to a wide open wide receiver Salvatore Giuliano in stride for a 55-yard panther touchdown.

Taylor hooks up with running back Trevor Rumbelow for a good extra point.

Bullard 22 Brownsboro 8.

The Panther defense forced a fumble when Colton Mebane popped the bear running back, a alert Jess Wood pounced on the football.

Bullard put a exclamation point on the evening when Alexander took the ball on a sweep play and scampered 50 yards around the right side for his third touchdown of the night.

Tight end Britt Thomas scored for a good extra point. Bullard 30 Brownsboro 8, Final.

Standouts for the panthers were Colton Mebane, Devin Alvey, Houston Alexander, Trevor Rumbelow, Jess Wood, Britt Thomas, Jesse Duplechin and the entire offensive & defensive lines.

This victory was a total team effort, offense, defense and special teams ruled the field.

This makes the panthers record 6-1, 4-0 in district play.

The Panthers end the season Thursday against the Canton Eagles at Bullard stadium.

The B-Team was also in action Tuesday, but loss 14-0 to the bears. Panthers Zachary Wingate, Weston Gray, James Bradshaw and Cody Goode were standouts.
